Today marks the anniversary of the beginning of this blog. (I would say ‘humble beginning’ but that suggests there’s been an upward trajectory and that’s not very humble.) Anyway it’s been a year and I thought I would take this opportunity to thank anyone who has allowed me to take their picture and everyone that has visited and looked at a picture. I appreciate it more than you could possibly know.

Last summer I was feeling restless and cagey. I tried to figure out  what was bothering me and I was able to summarize it into a mission statement of sorts: “I want to be an active member of a creative community." I had to find a way to participate in New York rather than just watching. A year later, with 134 posts and over 1000 pictures on this blog, I still don’t consider myself a ‘member of the community’ yet, but at least I can say I’m active.

With regard to that community, I have been thrilled to meet so many people whose work I so admire. It has been incredibly gratifying to chat with you and get to know you and see your work. There are so many awesome people here doing so many interesting things. I feel very lucky that I am able to gadfly around and try to document a small part of what is going on. For this anniversary post I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures of the creative people I’ve been lucky enough to photograph in the last year.

Thanks everyone for everything forever.
