May Day May Day

 Andres Serrano, a secret 1%er?

Up with nothing!

The May 1st parade / march passed by my office so I stepped outside to have a gawk. It was actually pretty huge, stretching from Union Square to lower Manhattan and filling Broadway the whole way down. As always it was a very fragmented collection of interests but the overall spirit was hopeful and camaraderie high.

As I stood there I listened to some old people around me mock everyone and explain why this wouldn't change anything, and I found myself thinking both "you're probably right" and "at least they are trying."

Please note that this post is flanked, as was the parade, by sad and bored looking cops, of which there seems to be an endless army.
